Top 5 farm equipment auction sales of 2026 (so far)

It’s been a busy year at Ritchie Bros. – we’ve conducted dozens of farm equipment auctions in 2026, moving thousands of items for customers across the United States and Canada.

As we pass the midpoint of the year, we’re taking a look back at the top farm equipment sales that have defined the season — the big-ticket machines that drew serious attention and serious dollars.

Here’s a countdown of the highest-selling farm equipment items in the US so far in 2026.

1. 2023 John Deere X9 1000 Signature Edition 4×4 Combine Harvester Sold for $485,000  

Topping the list is a 2023 John Deere X9 1000 Signature Edition. The X9 1000 is John Deere’s most powerful combine, and the Signature Edition trim pushes it to another level entirely.  

2. 2023 John Deere 9RX 640 Track Tractor Sold for $455,000   

Coming in second just behind the combine is another John Deere titan — the 9RX 640 Track Tractor. With 640 horsepower and a four-track drive system engineered for massive pulling power and reduced soil compaction, the 9RX is built for the largest operations on the continent.  

3. 2023 John Deere 8RX 410 Signature Edition Track Tractor Sold for $420,000

The third-highest sale of the year: the 2023 John Deere 8RX 410 Signature Edition Track Tractor. The 8RX series is a workhorse favored for its versatility and precision, and the 410 horsepower Signature Edition is among the most sought-after configurations.  

4. 2024 MTS 3630T Scraper Tractor Sold for $365,000  

Breaking the John Deere streak comes this 2024 MTS 3630T Scraper Tractor. Scraper tractors play a critical role in land leveling, drainage work, and large-scale earthmoving on agricultural properties. The 3630T is a heavy-duty machine built for demanding tasks.

5. 2023 John Deere 410R 120 ft 4×4 High Clearance Self-Propelled Sprayer Sold for $330,000

Rounding out the top five is a machine that speaks to the precision agriculture era: the 2023 John Deere 410R Self-Propelled Sprayer with a 120-foot boom. Covering massive acreage with pinpoint accuracy, high clearance sprayers like this one are indispensable on large row crop operations.  

What these 2026 farm auction sales tell us

The numbers paint a clear picture: demand for late-model, high-horsepower equipment remains exceptionally strong heading into the second half of 2026. John Deere’s flagship lineup — combines, track tractors, sprayers — continues to drive strong demand at auctions.
