IronPlanet’s Sale Day experience just got a lot better
We’re always looking for ways to make your bidding experience faster, smoother, and more reliable — and we’re delivering on that commitment. The IronPlanet Sale Day experience has moved to a new, modern environment built on rbauction.com/live, available starting with the May 19 auction on GovPlanet.
This upgrade is all about performance and reliability — a cleaner, faster platform that gives you more confidence on auction days. Here’s everything you need to know:
What’s New
Faster Performance: Built on a more modern, stable infrastructure for a noticeably quicker Sale Day experience.
Cleaner, Modern User Interface: Updated formatting and a refreshed look aligned with modern Ritchie Bros. pages — familiar, but sharper.
Greater Reliability: A stable platform means less interruptions on high-traffic sale days.
Automatic Redirect: Your existing links redirect automatically — no new bookmarks or navigation needed.
What’s staying the same
While the platform is new, everything that matters most to your bidding workflow remains unchanged. Here’s what you can count on:
- Your credentials — log in exactly as you do today, no new account needed
- Your links — existing Sale Day links redirect automatically to the new experience
- Asset detail pages and bidding workflows — same process, same functionality
- Auction rules, timing, and fees — nothing has changed operationally
One thing to note: If you navigate outside the IronPlanet Sale Day experience to bid on an item on rbauction.com, you’ll be prompted to sign in with your Ritchie Bros. account credentials. Single sign-on is not currently available between the two experiences.
Ready to bid?
The upgraded experience goes live with the May 19 GovPlanet Surplus sale. Just use your existing links — they’ll take you straight there. If you have any questions before or during the auction, our Customer Care team is ready to help.
This is the first step in an ongoing commitment to improving your experience. We’re excited to hear what you think — and we’ll keep building from here.
