5 big machines at CONEXPO 2026 everyone is checking out

All the biggest names in construction are at CONEXPO 2026, showing off their coolest new products and head-turning equipment.  

Industry professionals and fans alike browse the seemingly endless showrooms at the Las Vegas Convention Center, taking in all the shiny new iron and snapping pictures of tomorrow’s top-of-the-line equipment and trucks. Simply put, it’s a gearhead’s paradise.  

We clocked some of the OEM’s coolest and buzziest machines grabbing everyone’s attention at this year’s conference.  

1. Liebherr 1700 crawler crane

Visible from miles away, this orange state-of-the-art crawler crane from Liebherr is 282 ft. tall – nearly as tall as a football field is long and almost as tall as the Statue of Liberty. In fact, it’s the tallest piece of equipment at CONEXPO!

2. Komatsu HD605-10 articulated dump truck

The Komatsu HD605-10 had a huge crowd around it, as it’s one of the biggest machines on the showroom floor. It’s also the heaviest, weighing in at 120,152 lbs. when empty.

3. Hyundai HX400L crawler excavator

Hyundai’s HX400L Next Gen excavator was the centerpiece for the Korean manufacturer’s display models at CONEXPO. It features an operating weight of 92,240 lbs. and a bucket capacity of 2.66 yards.

4. Volvo EC230 electric excavator

Operators cruising Volvo’s section of the Festival Grounds were lining up for a chance to give Volvo’s new EC230 electric excavator a quick workout. The machine features low noise and lower vibration, with more responsive hydraulics due to the electric motor.  

5. Bobcat’s Jobsite Companion

Finalist for the CONEXPO Next Level Award for technology, the Jobsite Companion offers voice‑activated automation to manage more than 50 machine functions. And only a few feet away was another Bobcat machine stealing attention. The nearby RogueX3 is an all-electric autonomous loader that looks straight out of Robocop.
